VALORANT

VALORANT is a fresh 2020 tactical shooter from Riot Games, from the forefathers of League of Legends. This game is multiplayer, built on a free to play system with the introduction of microtransactions. The project has made a lot of noise since its beta testing and certainly deserves your attention.

Picture

They are greeted by clothing, and VALORANT is rated primarily for graphic design. The picture is generally beautiful, with good color rendering and smooth animation. The main feature of the visual component of this shooter is that Riot did not abandon their cartoon style.

The game first of all highlights the hero on the map. The environment is fluid, streamlined, acting as scenery and shelters. But the hero is at the head of the table, he is contrasting, bright and mobile. The developers did not lose with this rate - everything around looks realistic in the concept of the world, and it is interesting to watch the game models.

Differences from brothers in the shop

VALORANT has entered the multiplayer shooter market with fairly large rivals: Overwatch, Counter-Strike and R6: Siege. Of course, the new project has some elements in common with these iconic games, but it is original enough not to be considered a simple plagiarism.

  • Least of all the game resembles Overwatch. VALORANT is dominated by the tactical element. From the first minutes of the game, it becomes clear that these projects only have similar visuals, and even then remotely.
  • Building on the success of Counter-Strike, the developers have simplified the rules of the game as much as possible. They are still interesting and exciting, but the barrier to entry has become minimal. Everyone can play, even a novice gamer.
  • Features of interaction with space are most reminiscent of R6: Siege. It is interesting to explore the world around here, it is contact, filled with references and secrets. You won't be bored - that's for sure!

Gameplay

VALORANT stands out from other games for its simple, intuitive and interesting gameplay. The main goal of this shooter is to fight and defeat the opposing team. Each group can only have 5 heroes. Battles take place on one of three maps. In the future, the developers promise to add more game modes.

At the start, the character has only one skill. Additional skills can be purchased for local currency - credits. It must be earned during the game. Also, each hero has its own viewing radius, which depends on his class and abilities. It affects not only the view on the battlefield, but also the visibility of objects on the minimap.

The game interface is clear and user-friendly. All the necessary data and keys are on the screen, but they absolutely do not interfere with the review. The minimap seemed especially convenient for beta testers - it displays not only the structure of the battle range, but also marks of opponents, deaths, etc.

VALORANT Agents

In VALORANT, each team consists of five agents. At the start, players have access to 10 characters, each of which has its own unique skills. The stories of the agents are still unknown, but you can already enjoy their visuals and evaluate the tactical elaboration. So, you may have subordinate:

  • Specialists: Brimstone, Omen and Viper. These characters control the battlefield, reducing visibility, blocking passages, etc. They are one of the most demanding for the knowledge of the map and the ability to feel the timings. On the other hand, they know a little bit of everything and can show themselves in all situations.
  • Instigators: Breach, Sova. Their main goal is to gain information about opponents and distract them, they are very important tactical characters and are indispensable in a close-knit team.
  • Guardians: Cypher, Sage. These characters are support and defense. They heal allies and clearly restrict enemy movement towards your positions.
  • Duelists: Phoenix, Jett, Raze. These are the front-line fighters. Their abilities deal direct damage and are used in the midst of combat.

Interesting little things

VALORANT attracts players not only with its novelty, but also with a number of nice features:

  • The character animations are very detailed. Each hero and each type of weapon has its own unique movements. For example, characters of different genders and sizes can work with large weapons in different ways, taking into account the rules of physics in the real world.
  • Detailed statistics have been worked out in the game, up to the number of cartridges fired. It can be studied after the battle.
  • The game is extremely undemanding to hardware. It is stable even on weak, non-gaming computers. FPS are stable, beta testers did not experience any drawdowns.

It's too early to call VALORANT the project of the year, but this game is definitely worth taking a closer look at. If you like shooters and want to play with real people, not with mobs, while not overloading your computer, then the project definitely deserves your attention.
