Not so long ago, the daredevils, who were always admired by the Texas Rangers, had the opportunity to become a participant in similar events. Moreover, in conditions very close to real ones. Not in terms of the dominance of evil monsters, but in terms of relationships, when competitors who want to take away legitimate prey can also hunt you. An interesting novelty in the shooter genre was developed by Crytek - "Hunt: Showdown". And it turned out that wandering through the swamps of Louisiana turns out to be not only difficult, but also very exciting.

The plot of the game

The picture was created at the end of the 19th century, USA, the American Hunting Association is trying to fight the monsters that are destroying cities. The gamer gets a chance to join a group of experienced mercenaries who destroy evil spirits, receiving a reward for this. Everything seems to be noble and beautiful, but there are many pitfalls, and this applies not only to monsters. Indeed, on one small map there are 10 hunters, both singles and couples, who are also aimed at rewarding.

Hunt: Showdown Features

Before each task, you need to choose a hunter or hire for in-game currency. Each has its own characteristics and equipment. If the money is strained, the player gets a free character, but with extremely weak indicators. You can pump it, like a profile, using the experience earned by tasks, which then allows you to expand the choice of heroes and equipment. If the hero dies, the player loses half of the experience, all equipment and perks that he managed to pump. And everything will have to start over.

In "Hunt: Showdown" usually starts up to 5 teams, 2 players each. It is better for beginners to unite in pairs, it is easier to work in a team: they will cover their backs, and they can heal their comrades. But if a loner is chosen, then you have to be constantly in suspense, there are few problems with monsters, wait for adversity from competitors. Defeating the creature is half the battle, you still need to drag the trophy to the customer and get a reward. But on the way, you can get a bullet or a knife blow from other hunters who will happily pocket their prey and then get money without effort.

Mission Conditions

You can fight both day and night, but it's harder to work in the dark. It's easier to use a lantern or lamp, but then competitors will come running to the light. So it's better to focus on the bursts of shots and noise. If you are lucky enough to leave the map intact, it is recommended to spend the money and experience earned on the equipment of new hunters. Initially, weapons are chosen in advance, although it is also possible to collect a supply on the map.

What helps the hunter:

  • revolvers;

  • semi-automatic rifles.

Monster Tricks

Catching monsters is easier on the trail, they are visible when using dark vision. But there is one drawback. As long as the player turns on such a vision, he is completely defenseless. Even with the help of magic, you can see players with a trophy, so if you wish, it is not difficult to arrange an ambush.

By the way, it is not at all necessary to drag the whole carcass, it is enough to skin the prey and show the skin. And here is another "ambush". Skinning is possible only at the moment when the demonic entity is sent back to hell, and other players will immediately learn about this process. Another mark about the trophy appears on the cards of all owners of otherworldly blood. These are the bravest guys who use the blood of monsters and look into the other world, so it's easier to track down especially dangerous creatures. And from that moment on, the hunter himself becomes a victim, when it is important to get away with his feet and get to the final destination.

Hunt: Showdown Enemy Classification

In the alpha test, there are initially only 2 bosses. The first is a spider that runs along the ceiling, knocks you down and stabs you with a poisonous sting. The second is a crazy butcher with a not frail cleaver, invulnerable to fire, a characteristic feature - a pig's head instead of a mask. Who else will have to fight:

  • Zombies. They are not particularly dangerous, they can hit with a machete.
  • Half-decayed creatures with a cloud of poisonous wasps. It is better to avoid these, after bites of wasps, health is not restored.
  • Packs of dogs. Punching with fangs can significantly reduce health, so you need to be very careful to fight them off. Unnecessary fights should be avoided altogether, the terrain should be controlled.

Gamers still note the treachery of the fat men on the farms, they are not only happy to empty the ammunition, but also to unleash hordes of leeches on the hunters. In general, it is not superfluous to be guided by animals in the game. For example, when a player approaches, dogs in cages begin to bark, and disturbed crows croak overhead. This immediately gives out the location of the hunter, which is dangerous if he is with prey. But, on the other hand, you can calculate such signs yourself and move along them in search of a daredevil, from whom you can take the skin of a monster.

To play or not to play?

The question is interesting, the answer is also. In principle, the oppressive atmosphere of the American swamps, coupled with monsters and insolent competitors, can quickly discourage the fight for the good of humanity. And if you take into account that there is no competitor's kill counter, then it will not work to calculate how many players are still wandering in the vicinity, and where to really expect an ambush from. These moments can be nerve-wracking.

But if the player already has experience of such travels, and the arrogance of marauders cannot break through, it is worth trying your hand. Of the pluses, one can note the steep adrenaline, the ability to pump and expand. And also - good graphics, the developers of "Hunt: Showdown" were extremely attentive to details, and completely reproduced books, things, photographs of the century before last.
